MEMORIALS is an ongoing photo series documenting the unique custom of leaving objects to commemorate where loved ones died or were killed throughout Detroit. Often memorialized through stuffed animals, t-shirts, religious iconography, and liquor bottles drank in their honor, these memorials appear on trees, houses, and utility poles across the city - and like many things in Detroit, weather away over time.
